Malam Musa said, “Prince Murad and Maysam? Honestly, if it were someone else, I would have given her, but the prince is not Maysam’s equal in marriage.”
The King replied, “Come on, Malam Musa. We are all the same before Allah. No one is superior to another except by righteousness. Yes, Allah gave me kingship, but that does not make me better than you—unless you don’t want to unite your lineage with mine?”
Quickly, Musa responded, “Who said I don’t want to unite my family with yours? If that’s the case, from my side, I agree. I don’t know if Maysam herself will accept, but haste is not speed. You should know Maysam’s story.”
The Queen (Fulani) quickly said, “No, we already know everything. Maysam has told us all, including the injustice done to her in the past. Since then, we ensured she underwent all necessary medical tests, and Alhamdulillah, everything is fine. Don’t worry—I will personally speak to her.”
Malam Musa thought to himself, So she has told them she was adopted… but he still agreed. After all, how could he repay the love they showed his cherished daughter?
Out loud he said, “May Allah choose what is best for us.”

Later, the royal adviser (Waziri), who had been present, praised the King and Queen and said, “I request permission to speak about this union.”
The Queen allowed him.
He adjusted himself and said, “The girl is not of royal blood. In this kingdom, a prince marries a princess, and a princess marries a prince. Forgive me if I speak wrongly.”
The King replied, “That is tradition, not religion. I have already chosen wives for the prince based on character, upbringing, and faith. What is the benefit of marrying royal blood without good manners?”
