ABBANA BOOK 2 COMPELET HAUSA NOVELS PDF BY AUTAR ALHERI
From afar, she began to hear the crying of newborns intermingled with the neighing of a horse. She gradually slowed her pace as she noticed that the path she was heading towards made the sound of the crying baby echo even louder in her ears. As she walked while looking back, before she knew it, she bumped into a massive, mutated creature. This creature was holding small babies that shared its hideous features. Its height was double hers, and it was extremely obese—the thickness of the creature's thigh was four times that of Raihan’s entire body. It possessed limbs like those of an ape and a massive head resembling a hippopotamus. Its mouth was elongated, and its eyes were wide, bulging, and deep red. As Raihan prepared to retreat, the creature locked its eyes on her, extending its hand to signal her to come forward. Raihan turned around and bolted back toward the mountain cave, only to suddenly collide with Huzaifa, who had taken the exact form of Mama Hasiya, though his features were far more ghastly and deformed.
She breathed a sigh of relief because, if nothing else, she was glad to see him; she felt much safer with him than with that hideous monster. Upon seeing Huzaifa guide Raihan back into the mountain cave, the creature turned and retreated to where it had emerged. Huzaifa flashed a lazy smile, and once they were back inside, he seated Raihan on a wide flat stone and sat before her, watching her. Just as she was about to speak, he cut her off, asking, "Do you want to go back home?" Raihan nodded her head rapidly. He nodded in response and said, "I will return you home, but on one condition..." She quickly interrupted him, saying, "I agree to any of your conditions, as long as you take me home."
The monstrous entity brought out a baby creature that resembled a tortoise and said, "It is mandatory that you nurse this, for it is of your own blood." Her eyes bulged out as she stared at the creature with a contorted face, but he paid no attention to what she might say and continued, "It is also mandatory that you sever your ties with that girl, Intisar." Bewildered, Raihan looked up at him again. In this world, she had no closer friend than Intisar, and there was no one she was more compatible with, yet he was suddenly demanding that she separate from her.
In a blind rage, Daddy lunged at Kabiru, raining a barrage of wild blows upon him. He beat him until he himself grew exhausted, after which he pulled the fake Raihan (the clone/impostor) away, hugging her tightly while sighing deeply. Over in the corner, Kabiru collapsed, panting heavily and drawing breath with great difficulty. He looked up, and his eyes met those of the fake Raihan; secretly, she flashed him a lazy smile and began moving her lips, speaking words that no one else could hear. Although the fake Raihan's words were meant to taunt Kabiru, his anger flared again. He looked at Daddy, who was glaring at him viciously, and said in his flawed Hausa, "Alhaji, this boy is not a good person. He is an oppressor, and he wants to ruin you." Daddy clenched his fist again, punched Kabiru square in the mouth, and barked, "Damn you! Right in front of me, you dare tell me my daughter is not a good person? I thought you had some sense, but it turns out you are a scoundrel too. By Allah, today, not tomorrow, I will have you locked up so I can see who your protector is! You useless, empty madman!" The fake Raihan, clinging to Daddy, leaned into him further, limping her leg. Alhaji Mustafa Indabawa looked at Daddy and said, "My friend, please have patience. For now, let us move to where the boy's corpse is." Kabiru dragged himself up with great effort, his mouth dripping with blood. When Daddy peered into the room and caught sight of Sulaiman’s corpse, he quickly recoiled, his body trembling with immense terror. Alhaji Mustafa also peeked in and recoiled so violently that he bumped into Daddy. Instantly, Daddy stood frozen and panicked, whispering, "Did this horrific tragedy happen right in Raihan's room?" Intisar, who had just arrived, chimed in, saying, "Daddy, in all my life, I have never seen a snake as hideous as this one." Daddy, completely unnerved, began to nod his head. As they stood there, the snake began to uncoil itself from Sulaiman's body. Seeing this, the onlookers began to scatter. Kabiru slowly braced himself against the doorframe and slid one foot into the room.
A tense standoff began between the hooded cobra and Kabiru. Slowly, Kabiru began reciting every prayer of spiritual protection that came to his mind. The snake suddenly recoiled as Kabiru drew closer. Kabiru spotted a cup next to a jerrycan of water; he quickly grabbed it, poured the water, and began reciting verses of protection, spitting lightly into the cup. Daddy did nothing but peer in nervously from a distance. Because the fake Raihan knew how deeply Raihan’s father loved her, she smirked when she saw Kabiru trying to destroy the serpent her master had sent. She let out a sharp cry, wailing, "Daddy, my neck!" Kabiru turned to look at her, while Daddy placed his hand on her neck, saying, "Let's go to the hospital to get you checked. I swear, whatever happens to my daughter, you will answer for it yourself!" Daddy finished his sentence with a vicious glare at Kabiru. The fake Raihan slumped against him again and said, "Daddy, please tell them to stop chasing the snake so no one else dies. Just call the fire service." Daddy looked toward Kabiru and snapped, "You, get out of that room immediately before you become a corpse yourself!" Intisar glared fiercely at the fake Raihan, then turned her gaze back to Daddy and said, "Daddy, but it looks like the snake is starting to retreat, why not let him see what he can do..." Alhaji Mustafa interrupted her, saying, "Indeed, I was thinking the same thing, because it seems this boy possesses some spiritual aid that could help us." Ignoring them, Kabiru advanced further toward the snake. Suddenly, he splashed the blessed water from his hands onto it, his lips continuously mentioning the name of Allah. Instantly, the snake collapsed to the side, letting out a strange growl. It lunged again, intending to strike Kabiru, but Kabiru swiftly dashed the remaining water at it. Intisar burst into a joyful laugh, knowing that if nothing else, Mama Uwani had been severely harmed. Daddy and the others felt a wave of relief washing over them upon witnessing the intense struggle between Kabiru and the serpent.
The fake Raihan glanced at Intisar again and scoffed quietly; had Huzaifa given her the command, she would have long put Intisar in her place. With great difficulty, Kabiru reached out and dragged the snake out of the room, his face drenched in sweat. Suddenly, Daddy felt a sense of admiration for Kabiru due to the bravery he had displayed. This was the first time he felt unable to take harsh action against someone who had harmed his flesh and blood, because he deeply respected a man with a resilient heart. However, he was still furious with Kabiru for what he had done to Raihan right before his eyes.
Almost in unison, they packed up and left the wing, everyone murmuring their own thoughts. Kabiru took the snake to the far backyard of Daddy’s house and threw it away. Daddy personally ordered Raihan’s wing to be locked up, stating that he would call professionals to fumigate the room, while simultaneously contemplating moving everyone out of the house entirely.
Raihan had no choice, so she nodded her head to him and said, "I accept everything you have said, just please take me back." Huzaifa smiled with satisfaction, as he too noticed how utterly terrified Raihan was of him. Suddenly, he felt a pang of pity for her. He reached up and retracted the fangs that had sprouted from his mouth, opening his arms for Raihan to embrace him, but she flatly refused. He looked at her face and asked, "Do you love me?" Raihan had no option; whatever he said, she simply had to agree and comply. In the midst of her thoughts, she heard him say, "Close your eyes." She looked left and right, then softly pleaded, "Please don't do anything to me." Huzaifa smiled and said, "The moment you close your eyes, you will find yourself at home." Before he could even finish his sentence, Raihan shut her eyes tightly. Not long after, she began to hear the faint sound of a bustling commotion. Opening her eyes, she found herself sitting in her Daddy's living room. She slowly scanned the area and spotted Intisar along with the other girls who usually hung out in her room. As her eyes locked with Intisar's, her heart skipped a violent beat, especially when she recalled the warning given to her by the entity wearing Mama Hasiya’s face. She slowly stood up without uttering a word. Upon stepping out, she headed towards Mommy’s wing and ran into Mama Uwani on the staircase. Seeing her, Mama Uwani grinned broadly and said, "Welcome back to your rest, my mistress." Raihan gave a faint, detached reply, "Yes, Mama Uwani. Where is Mommy?" Mama Uwani pointed toward Mommy's room and said, "She is inside. I just served food to the guests, should I guide you?" Raihan stopped her, saying, "No, Mama Uwani, just go ahead." Mama Uwani smiled, saying, "Have a peaceful rest, my mistress." Raihan didn't reply and walked straight into the room. Before Mama Uwani could descend the stairs, Intisar approached the spot. They exchanged an intense look, conscious of the people sitting in the living room. Mama Uwani let out a lazy smirk and walked past without saying a word to Intisar.
Upon entering, Intisar bade Mommy farewell, claiming she was heading home. But even when she spoke to Raihan, Raihan didn't even cast a glance her way, let alone respond. Seeing this, Intisar felt a deep sense of foreboding. Consequently, the moment she left the house, she vanished right from the gate, stopping nowhere else but at the island base of their secret cult.
When Raihan sat down, her body felt entirely drained. She desperately wanted to inform her mother that Mama Hasiya wasn't actually dead, but she was terrified of what might happen to her next. As she sat there, Daddy called Mommy’s phone to inform her of the mysterious disappearance of Inno and Goggo. He instructed her to pack up all their clothing because he was arranging for them to be moved from their current residence to his other house located in the Sharada quarters. According to him, the current house was infested with dangerous creatures, and they could no longer continue living there.
(What he doesn't know is that wherever he goes, as long as he is with Raihan, he is with the Jinn Lover's Wife! And if he is with Mama Uwani, he is with the Jinn Lover himself! Let's see how it unfolds.)
No matter how much Daddy wanted to punish Kabiru, he found that his heart simply could not bring him to take drastic action against him. However, he held onto one resolve: if anything else happened to Raihan, he would exact a terrible vengeance upon him. Later that day, they relocated to Daddy's new house in Sharada, where the remaining funeral sympathizers joined them. Kabiru was assigned the room adjacent to the security gate. Upon entering the room, he saw it had everything he needed, but instantly, the room transformed before his eyes into a pit of massive serpents, identical in shape to the one he had killed in Raihan's room. As he attempted to back away, he felt something heavy drop onto his upper back before he could make a move, wrapping itself tightly around his body.
Upon her arrival, Intisar paid her respects to Witch Bungulu. After the greetings, the Witch looked at Intisar and asked, "What brings you here in the middle of the day?"
With a gloomy expression, she replied, "Witch, there is a mountain of problems because Huzaifa is actively targeting me. Aside from Huzaifa, there is a certain Fulani security guard of theirs who looks like he will cause us trouble. But the one causing the most damage is Huzaifa. Therefore, I resolved not to sit idly by until we figure out a solution, because as we speak..."
Before Intisar could even finish her sentence, Witch Bungulu cut her off, saying, "I have seen everything that transpired, including his taking Raihan to his island." Intisar nodded furiously, fuming, "It seems he has terrified her, and at any moment, she is on the verge of rebelling against our commands."
"Then we shall kill Huzaifa if he is going to cause us problems," the Witch stated bluntly, without a shred of hesitation or fear. Startled and panicked, Intisar looked up, fixing her eyes on the Witch. With a trembling voice, she stammered, "Have you forgotten who Huzaifa is to me? He is my husband!" The Witch shrugged indifferently and said, "Your advancement is far more important than your marriage to him, so I don't see how he benefits you in any way." Intisar frowned deeply and countered, "I will not tolerate the killing of my husband and the father of my children, but we must absolutely find another way out of this situation."
(I know many of you will be shocked to hear that Intisar is Huzaifa's wife! Do you remember Mugaza? She is Intisar. But why hasn't Huzaifa recognized her, leading to this cat-and-mouse game between them? What profit does Mugaza hope to gain by throwing Raihan into the secret cult? If Mommy and the others move to Sharada, are they safe, or is there still a long journey ahead?)

Daddy walked along with Raihan held firmly in his hand until they entered the house, his mind racing with intense thoughts. He wondered what kind of snake could instantly coil around a person and kill them, and how it could have emerged right from his daughter Raihan’s room. He scoffed, contemplating the extreme security measures he would add to the existing ones by the time they got inside. Mommy felt completely unnerved; ever since the incident occurred, she realized that the snake in Raihan's room was no ordinary animal. However, this time she vowed to tell Daddy the absolute truth regardless of how angry he might get. Therefore, as soon as they arrived, she sought an audience with him in his new bedroom. He had originally built this house with the intention of moving in after a few months, but because the finishing touches weren't completed, they had delayed the relocation. Yet, current circumstances forced them to move abruptly in the middle of the day. Daddy looked at Mommy hurriedly and said, "Speak, I'm listening. You know I just received a call informing me that Inno and Goggo were taken by the Hisbah police, so I must go. What a disaster—they say Inno and her companion were found inside Malam Isa’s mosque at the end of the street." Only then did Mommy’s eyes widen, as she was completely unaware of what was happening. Seeing her distress, he looked at her with a serious face and said, "It's nothing to panic over, everything will be sorted out easily. I'm leaving now." He finished speaking and left the room without waiting for her response, leaving Mommy utterly frozen as a myriad of thoughts collided in her mind.
A burning heat began to consume Kabiru's body, making him feel as though he were standing directly in front of a furnace. Dizziness began to overcome him alongside a crushing constriction from the snake wrapped around him. He struggled to maintain his footing until he sank to his knees, desperately wanting to recite a verse of Allah, but the snake squeezed his throat tightly. He began to gasp hoarsely as if his soul were about to depart. In his heart, he wanted to recite even just the Ayat al-Kursi, but a heavy mass blocked his chest like a boulder. In the midst of this ordeal, he saw one of the snakes stand completely upright, flaring its hood. Slowly, the snake's skin began to peel away and shed from its body, transforming from the shape of a serpent into a human form. Gradually, a young woman emerged; her entire upper body was covered in hair from her head down to her waist, while her lower body remained coiled in the form of a serpent. She began to flick her tongue at him, and instantly, a baby snake dropped out. She clutched it in her hand, glared at Kabiru who was in a wretched state, and began to speak: "You young Fulani boy, who told you that crossing paths with me would be easy? Do you even know whom you harmed? Do you know whose life you took from me? Or did you think you would get away scot-free?" Kabiru looked up, drawing breath with extreme difficulty, his eyes bloodshot as sweat continued to pour from his body. He wanted to open his mouth but couldn't. Seeing this, she burst into a manic laugh until she had her fill, then suddenly dissolved into bitter weeping. After crying for a long time, she paused, looked at him again, and said, "Weren't you bragging about your prayers? Keep praying then, let's see! Did you really think you could kill my husband and live in peace?" The serpent-woman began to slither directly toward Kabiru. Seeing her approach him aggressively, Kabiru made a desperate effort to pull back, opening his mouth and trying to recite a prayer while moving his lips, though his voice failed to make a sound. As she closed in on him, the sheer heat of his breath blasted against her form, forcing her to instinctively recoil due to a burning sensation she felt emanating from his mouth. They locked eyes in a tense standoff. Unwilling to back down, she lunged a second time with the full intention of destroying him. No matter how hard Kabiru tried to find his voice to pray, it was impossible. An idea struck him, and he began to recite the Ayat al-Kursi silently in his heart, spitting spiritually toward her as she approached. Seeing that her advance meant her own destruction, she backed away again, and instantly, the snakes surrounding him vanished. The massive serpent that had bound him loosened its grip and released him; with great difficulty, it slithered up the wall of the room and disappeared. The room was left with only the serpent-woman and Kabiru, as she kept her eyes locked on him, examining him thoroughly to identify the vulnerability she could exploit to ruin him. Exhausted, Kabiru collapsed into a corner, panting heavily, his entire body inflamed from the intense constriction of the serpent. Slowly, a stinging ache spread across his skin; lowering his eyes to his arms, he noticed to his horror that his skin was beginning to alter its texture, transforming into scales like that of a snake. The serpent-woman stared at Kabiru and burst into a wicked, malicious laugh. Kabiru's panic reached new heights upon witnessing the terrifying transformation happening to his flesh. In the midst of his panic, the voice of the serpent-woman reached him, saying, "You killed my husband without any justification. Huzaifa sought my husband's assistance to come to his aid, and you killed him. The pain of his death made me want to slaughter you, but I will not kill you now. Not until I have thoroughly tortured your soul and your physical frame, then I shall destroy you with my own hands. Go ahead, even with this serpent skin I have left you with; the misery of this worldly life will be punishment enough for you." As she finished speaking, she coiled back into a massive snake, spun around from where she stood, and began to sink directly into the ground until she vanished completely. Kabiru's entire body did nothing but tremble violently. His greatest terror was seeing his skin completely transformed into that of a snake, with the sole exceptions of his face, hands, and feet, which had remained unchanged because the serpent had not touched those areas.
Enraged, the Witch looked up at Intisar again and said, "If we don't kill him, do you have another way we can deal with him? Or do you have a suggestion on how we can divert his thoughts away from Raihan?" Intisar remained silent, analyzing the situation, because she herself knew who Huzaifa was and how relentlessly analytical he could be. She knew that since he had targeted her, he would inevitably trace her identity and origins. She knew that the moment he exposed her, a massive storm would erupt between them; with a dark heart like his, he was entirely capable of destroying her. It was only because she utilized the secrets of witchcraft and sorcery that she survived, just as his current obsession with Raihan had prevented him from finishing her off already. In the midst of her thoughts, the Witch's voice reached her again, saying, "If you don't have a plan, then listen to my advice." Intisar looked at the Witch, sighing deeply as she said, "I am listening, my mistress, the cure to my tears. In you and the Idol of Worship alone do I rely, in this life and the next (May Allah forbid). You are the one who has always lifted every burden from me, and even now, I follow your lead to hear the way out you will bring us before the Idol of Worship manifests."
The Witch’s head swelled with pride. She stood up from her spot, picked up a long, wide horn, placed it to her lips, and knelt on the ground. She pressed the tip of the horn against the earth and blew into it with all her might. Instantly, the entire island echoed with its deafening blast, as if the sound would split the forest in two. Before she even finished blowing, djinns bearing hideous forms began to emerge—some from beneath the earth, others from within the rocks, while some poured out from the ritual chamber. Within moments, they had gathered and prostrated before her, chanting praises as was their custom, before standing at attention, awaiting her commands.
A strange sound blending weeping and laughter began to rise, and suddenly, the island began to tremble. As they stood there, the hideous multi-headed beast (the Idol of Worship) lowered its heads into the courtyard where she stood. The moment they beheld it, everyone present, including the Witch, fell to the ground in prostration, chanting incantations and praises. In the blink of an eye, a black djinn dropped before it in deep reverence, asking:
"Oh my mistress, do you require a newborn infant, the mother of an infant, an old man, or an old woman?" Raising its heads, the beast let out a roar like a wild bull. Hearing this specific roar, the djinn bowed even lower, saying, "Your wish is granted and finalized." Upon finishing his words, he vanished from the spot.
The beast looked at them one by one and then began to speak in a raspy, unpleasant voice, "Everything you have discussed, we have heard. Therefore, there is no need for repetition, only the execution of the judgment." Intisar’s body immediately began to tremble as sweat drenched her, for she did not know what kind of judgment the Idol of Worship would pass upon Huzaifa. In the midst of her anxiety, the voice continued, saying, "We will not kill Huzaifa, but the style of play must change. You all know that in the past, raw fish used to drive her mad. This is because the child she bore for Huzaifa shares a lineage with the creature of the sea. Right now, we will..."
